cash led the board this week. priced in gold ounces, national currencies and bonds advanced while crypto sold off hard and equities with commodities finished mixed.
crude oil was the standout, up 7.9%. the us dollar and japanese stocks tied for second at 4.1%, with the euro and the dow jones industrials right behind at 3.8% each. on the downside, ethereum fell 18.2%, the cci30 crypto basket dropped 13.6%, and bitcoin lost 13.5%.
bonds trailed usd cash but still posted gains: short-term notes rose 3.6% and long bonds advanced 3.3%. the s&p 500 added 1.4% while gold stocks slipped 2.5%. across the precious metals complex, palladium was down 1.7% and silver edged 0.2% lower.
reading: fiat liquidity and duration caught a bid, crypto gave back purchasing power in ounces, and energy was the only real commodity leadership. the ounce still separates the noise from the signal.
